Reopening After COVID Lockdown
We are so thrilled to be able to let you know that the school is reopening this week after 7 long months closed due to COVID restrictions. The Ugandan government has given permission for special schools to open providing they pass an inspection to demonstrate they can open safely following COVID safe guidelines. We have been busy organising extra hand washing facilities, buying equipment to spray classrooms and purchasing extra desks to allow for social distancing. We have held a parents meeting, been inspected and are the proud owners of our COVID compliance certificate. The children are beginning to report back, and we are excited to see happy faces back at the school. If you follow us on Facebook, we have just received a little hand washing video you can watch. As we are still unable to visit, we are relying on photos taken on mobile phones and sent to us via messaging services so please bear with us if they are not quite up to our usual standard!
